Edeltrud Adams

Edeltrud (Trudy, Traudel, Ed) Adams aged 93 passed away peacefully on June 23, 2022 in the presence of her husband, lifetime love and best friend, Greg.

Our beloved was born May 9, 1930 in Mannheim, Germany.  The oldest child of Heinrich and Anna Lomb; she was a devoted sister to Karl, Hermi and Evi, whom she loved and cared for with all her heart during the war.

She met and married the love of her life, Vernon (Greg) Adams, who whisked her off on a European honeymoon in a Volkswagen van.  Once in the US, they continued their adventures, living in New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, South Dakota, Illinois and finally Seattle, where they raised their two children Melissa and Linda (nee Precious).

Trudy will always be remembered as a warm and loving Oma with a bottomless jar of homemade cookies and a large stockpile of garage sale toys by her grandchildren Madison Taylor, Sawyer James, Alexa Rae and the scores of neighbourhood children who lived around her.

Trudy enjoyed work outside of the home, working at the Royal Fork and taking care of bookwork for the family business.  She was also loved by her customers at the Continental Store in the University District, where she served behind the meat counter for over thirty years.

In-laws Penny and James will remember her as an impeccable homemaker, who welcomed family and friends to her home with sunny flower boxes on the front porch and a kitchen larder filled with homemade treats.

She is our irreplaceable family treasure.

Comments

I had the pleasure of meeting Trudy at Foundation House when she and Greg resided there. What a sweet caring person who loved to communicate, tell stories about her family, childhood in Germany through pictures and memorabilia.
Trudy cared deeply about everyone, had an infectious smile and was extremely devoted to Greg, her daughters and grandchildren.
We missed them when they moved to West Seattle, but will always cherish those memories.

Rest in Paradise Trudy
Love, Patricia xx

Trudy was a gem. I will always remember her fondly. Deepest condolences to the family.

Liebe Familie Adams,
