Hugh Cappel Doerschuk was born and lived in Massena, New York, until moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania when he was 12.  He graduated in Engineering from Cornell University. After serving in the Navy during WWII, he married Joanne Wilhelm on May 8, 1945. Hugh and Judy were active members of University Presbyterian Church and Trinity Parish Church. Hugh enjoyed spending time with his family, and also skiing, biking, tennis, golf, camping, hiking, building, traveling, and reading.  Hugh is survived in love, by his children David Doerschuk, Susan Wilson, John Doerschuk , and Sarah Beshlian, as well as nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Hugh believed in service to others, accepting each living thing the way it is, and in having a reverence for life.
