Doris-Lee was born Mary 5th 1922 in Seattle, Washington to Elizabeth Ruth Sheahan and Harry Glenn Smart.

She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1940. Attended University of Washington; member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Worked in the Engineering Department at Boeing during WWII. She married her high school sweetheart, Dexter A. Dimick Jr in 1944.

She served on Totem Girl Scout Council and troop organizations. She was active in Washington Association of Churches Legislative Workshops, Church Council of Greater Seattle Legislative Committees, served on Board of Northwest Harvest, Wesley Homes Foundation, Church Women United, and member of Roosevelt High School Golden Grads. She was a member of Des Moines United Methodist Church and awarded the Bishop’s Medal by Bishop McConnel in 1993. She served District and Conference Offices of the Pacific Northwest Conference UMC. Active in United Methodist Women, Schools of Mission, community and social justice issues.

She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her daughters and their families last Sunday evening. She is survived by son Craig (Rika), daughter Laura Edwards, daughter Janet Petet (Don), grandsons Justin Edwards (Sara) and Dane Petet. Great grandchildren Rowan and Griffin.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dexter A. Dimick and her brother Phillip M. Smart. She will be resting with Dexter at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
