Sherry Elaine King was born July 28, 1965, in Everett, Washington, to parents Mary Evelyn King and Richard Arthur King. She was the youngest of four children.

As a young adult she worked as a tour guide in the Washington State Legislature, where her father served as a state representative for 32 years. She also worked as a flagger on road crews in Snohomish County and in the kitchen crew at Harbour Pointe Golf Course, where she was very excited to make a sandwich for basketball great Jack Sikma.

She earned an AA degree in business marketing from Everett Community College. In later years a disability prevented her from working.

She loved the ocean and visited Ocean Shores every summer first with her parents and later with her children and grandchildren. She loved her family and friends very much.

She died of ovarian cancer on June 10, 2024, at her home in Mukilteo, Washington. She is survived by her son Travis Nicolas Taylor, daughter Sierra Desiree Paulson, grandchildren Zieke Travis Green and Jerzi Jai Marlee Jones, her siblings Douglas King, Diana King and Shawn King, and her beloved service dog Lucky Star.

Her children are planning a celebration of her life later this summer. Please consider donations to Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County, dvs-snoco.org .
