Ronald Feigal, a life-long learner and loving family man, was born in Minneapolis, MN on February 27, 1946. He passed away on July 29, 2023 at age 77 in Seattle, WA.
Ron's childhood was filled with outdoor adventures, daring science experiments, and a wonderful curiosity about many topics including electronics. He built a ham radio and communicated with ham radio operators all over the world.
At age 20, Ron was an early Peace Corp volunteer, serving primarily on Tamatam, a tiny island in Micronesia. With Ron’s many skills, he set up an inter-island communication system, built a school, and treated minor medical emergencies. He returned home with an even deeper appreciation for other cultures, belief systems, and a life of simple pleasures.
Ron went on to earn a BA in Social Work and a BS in Electrical Engineering, building a career as a highly respected engineer at several Seattle companies. He enjoyed sailing, camping on the San Juan Islands, hiking, running, and remodeling the family’s 100-year-old home. He also looked forward to beginning each day with a rigorous morning workout and greeting each evening with a glass of wine.
He was a devoted father, always making time for his son and daughter by going to their many sports games, helping with homework, and encouraging them to pursue their interests. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with his two young granddaughters, his greatest joy!
Ron was preceded in death by his father and mother, Richard and Doris Feigal. He is survived by his former wife and forever friend, Susan Canfield, and their two children, Jennifer Lindal and David Feigal, his granddaughters, Avery and Allie Lindal, his brothers Wayne and John Feigal, and his sister Kathy Tetzlaff.
