Myrna May Haigh

d. April 4, 2024

We lost our beloved Mother, Myrna May Haigh, on April 4th, 2024 at the age of 77. Myrna was born on July 24, 1946 in Seattle, WA to Murdock and Margaret MacPherson. She was the middle “May Sister” between Marsha and Margie.

Myrna grew up in the Shoreline area and graduated from Shoreline High School. She attended the University of Washington where she developed a love for Russian language and culture. Myrna met and married Phil Haigh in 1967 and became a member of the beloved Haigh clan.

Myrna enjoyed raising her daughters Jennifer and Angie and being involved in all aspects of their lives from many swim meets, to running auctions, to being a Girl Scout leader. Mom went back to work to help support the family and had several early careers including a clerk at the railroad and as a movie booking agent for MGM/UA. She later went on to work at Boeing as a Data Analyst for the rest of her career and retired in 2008.

Her greatest role began with the birth of her first granddaughter Emily, soon to be followed by Grace and Natalie. Myrna was enamored with her granddaughters who brought her so much joy. She loved taking them on vacations and adventures and spending as much time as possible with them. She could be counted on to be at every sporting and school event and was the girls’ biggest cheerleader. We have countless treasured memories of family trips and celebrations together.

Myrna was a people person and could make a connection with someone while waiting in the grocery line and learn their life story, so, unsurprisingly, she has many beloved lifelong friends who will sorely miss her.

Myrna is survived by her children Jennifer Rogers (Philip) and Angie Budinich (Tom); 3 grandchildren , Emily, Grace, and Natalie; her sisters, Marsha (Greg) Ullrich of Sun City, AZ, and Margie (Dusty) Zacher of Bellfair, WA; many beloved nieces and nephews; and numerous friends and extended family.

We will remember all of the laughter, the art of ordering in a restaurant, her inquisitive nature (others might call it nosiness), her generosity, and her kind and caring ways for us all. There are no words to describe the hole that will be left in our lives nor the sorrow we have from losing our beloved mother.

A graveside service will be celebrated on Friday, May 10th at 2:30 at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery. 205 NE 205th St, Shoreline, 98155.  Meet at the entrance at 2:15. Procession in cars will follow at ceremony time.

Celebration of Life to follow at Scott’s Bar and Grill in Shoreline.
