Mary Bridget Mccann

Mary was born on November 13, 2002 in Seattle to Stacy and James McCann. In Seattle they connected to an creative, kind and loving community of friends, through sports, school, neighborhood and cancer research  fund-raising activities, which has supported the family in all ways.

Mary found joy in so many things: music, soccer, reading, knitting, ceramics, cats, people and most everything else. She loved learning and “getting things done”.  Travel with her family were highlights of her life: especially New York City and Hawaii and Disneyland.

Throughout her five-year fight against brain cancer she kept busy with schoolwork, friends, crafts and many other activities.  She will be remembered for her good cheer, sense of humor, kindness, and perhaps more than anything else -her courage and acceptance of each new limit put on her.

In addition to her mom and dad, Mary is survived by her sister, Rebecca, and brother Raphael.  She is also survived by her grandparents Jim and Linda McCann in Bonney Lake, WA, and her grandparents Janet and Ralph Moore in Maryland as well as aunts, uncles and cousins on both coasts.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the The Run of Hope (Team Ernie/Mary) https://www.runofhopeseattle.org/ which takes place September 23 at Seward Park. Proceeds support pediatric brain tumor research at Seattle Children's.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 18th at 2pm at University Lutheran Church, 1604 NE 50th St, Seattle WA 98105

We will have the family and friends of Mary in our thoughts and prayers during the celebration of her life this afternoon. What a brave girl she was, and what a beautiful example of courage, kindness and love! Our hearts are with you all. Love, Joan and Joe Joan and Joe Tiernan
