Lois Ann Rancourt

d. July 29, 2017

age 89, last residing in Covington, WA, passed peacefully in her sleep the morning of July 29, 2017.

Lois was born in Everett, WA on March 17, 1928 (St. Patrick’s Day) to Ann (O’Neill) and James Persons. A friend from school, Fran Rancourt, introduced Lois to her dazzling brother Dewey. They dated and both graduated from Everett High School. She went on to train for nursing in Everett.

Lois and Dewey were wed on July, 15 1947, and lived in North Seattle, (by the Fishbowl) where they started to build a family. Changes in employment and family size took her South further to Bryn Mawr, then across Renton to Kennydale.

Lois loved to garden and avidly collected plants and rocks. Many times, while in the car she said,” Oh, Dewey, pull over!”. He would comply and she would arrive home with another plant, or rock.

She painted with passion. She “colorized” black and white photos, hand painted art deco around her kitchens, expressed acrylics on paper and achieved impressive success with oil on canvas.

Our mother danced. Oh, how she loved to dance! Lois and Dewey loved dancing together and did so frequently.

She leaves behind her only sibling, Nancy (Persons) Sorensen of California; children Michael R. and wife Teresa Rancourt, Janis E. (Rancourt) and husband Steve Foss; Lee Ann (Rancourt) and husband Kirk Henriksen; and James D. and Paulette (Olson) Rancourt. As well as many grand and great-grandchildren.
