Liz Pfender was born and raised in Cleveland and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1968. In 1969 she married her college sweetheart, Bill Clark, and they moved to Seattle where they lived a long and happy life in Ravenna. She obtained a master’s degree in library science from UW and taught at Hilltop Middle School in Highline for many years. In 2019 she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and died March 8 in the gentle care of Ida Culver House Broadview. She is survived by her husband, three children, and eight grandchildren.
