Khym Clark

d. February 10, 2024

Khym Clark, 73, of Edmonds, WA, passed away on February 10, 2024. She was born Kimberly Joyce Clark on August 28, 1950, in Juneau, Alaska and moved with her family to Washington state as a young child. She spent many summers and weekends on the beaches of Whidbey Island and loved the waters of the Puget Sound. Khym was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, known for her giving nature, kindness, and love for her grandchildren. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Khym dedicated 48 years of her life to KOMO News/Radio, where she worked in Office Administration and Engineering. Her role was crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the news broadcasts, arranging satellite feeds, and scheduling camera crews. Her dedication and behind-the-scenes work played a vital role in bringing news to the community. Outside of work she spent many hours volunteering through Girl Scouts of America as a troop leader, teaching Sunday School at her church, or spending time with the animals at PAWS. She gave as much of herself as she could.

Khym enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels, spending quality time with her cherished grandchildren, reading, and playing cards with her friends. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life and treasured every moment spent with her loved ones.

Khym will be deeply missed by her surviving family members, including her son George N. Erickson III, daughter Catherine (Erickson) Assata and son-in-law Kane Assata, daughter Shelby (Miller) Holden, granddaughter Nicole (Matson) Bride, grandchild Jason Matson, grandson Ash Erickson-Clark, sister Jennifer Clark, sister Lorinda (Clark) McKinnon, as well as numerous bonus grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many others she raised as her own. She was preceded in death by her father Donald Clark and mother Joyce (Douglass) Clark.

Khym was a woman of faith and found solace in her worship at Alderwood Community Church. Her spirituality was an important aspect of her life.

At her request, there will be no memorial service held to honor Khym's life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to be made to World Concern, American Lung Association, or the Center for Human Services in memory of Khym Clark.

Khym's legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She touched the lives of many, and her memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
