James "Jim" Martin Caldwell

James “Jim” Martin Caldwell, 82, passed away on January 27th , 2025 at Swedish Edmonds Hospital. He was born August 19, 1942 in Wenatchee, WA, the son of William and Florance Caldwell.

Jim joined the Navy after Graduating from Washington State University. He served as an officer for 4 1/2 years on active duty, serving two tours in the Mediterranean and then 20 years in the reserves. Jim retired from Military service as a Lieutenant Commander on August 19th , 2002.  After Jim left active duty, he had a career in accounting in the Financial Aid Department at the University of Washington.

Jim was proceeded in death by his only brother Michael Caldwell and his first wife Carol. Jim married his wife Carol Dunn in 1965 and had two sons, Scott Caldwell and Alan Caldwell. Later in life he found love again and married Alicia Balderama on September 7th , 2002, gaining another son Talo Balderama.

Jim was always smiling, had an infectious laugh and was loved by all who met him. He loved the beach and he loved to travel with his wife. He was always coaching and playing sports, especially bowling and baseball. We imagine he already has teams set up on the other side.  Play ball!
