Native born Seattleite Gayle Hutchins was born and deceased in Seattle in the Fall. She died on 09/22/2015, a holy day of prayer and letting go. She has three children. She now joins her beloved animals, a cat and dog in the thereafter. Her recent dog was adopted by the animal service for terminally ill patients and their pets, Rebecca's Rainbow. They are accepting donations. She was sad but also most grateful that her dog was placed in a good home and was hopeful and prayerful about it. She loved and is loved by her community that she shared the last decade of her life with and also grateful for the love and support of her care providers and relationships with family members as well.
She was active in her community as a librarian and used to co-facilitate a local coffee meeting as well before things caught up to her. She defied the odds over the span of about seven years as her health began its spiral. She didn't give up and had supportive people around in times of need. She will join some of the coffee meeting volunteers in the afterlife also.
She was a professional secretary most of her working life, before the computer was a big to-do. She loved to write. She called it her homework, or "prayer journal."She will be remembered for being prayerful, grace-filled, a good listener, dignified, private and had moments of mild humor that was, (and will continue to be), often a pleasant surprise. She defied the odds over a span of about seven years.
She prayed for everyone and had a special place in her heart for family, friends, community and her care teams. She enjoyed the Arts and used to play guitar recreationally several years ago, had a lovely singing voice and liked to sew, knit and crochet. She loved Avon. She was quite reserved and humble. Thanks for being you Gayle!! You are loved and will be missed!!!
I want to thank David and the community of Olive Ridge for being soooo supportive of my mother in her times of need. I am sorry it took me so long to say this and I hope you forgive my absentmindedness in aknowledging all of the efforts of those who were and are her extended family. Love, peace, joy and light!

Her faith is her guide and her Christ centered love was her compass. Thanks to all who helped my mother and her pets along the way in her journey. She is loved and missed by many.
