Elna E. (Sorenson) Larson

Elna passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Nov. 30th, 2015 one week before her 95th birthday. The 2nd of 7 children she was born in Spencer Iowa on Dec. 6, 1920 and grew up on the farm. She came to the Northwest during WWII, on the same train as her future husband whom she had met in Milford, Iowa. She got a job building torpedoes at the Keyport Naval Base. After the war, she married George Larson and settled in the Bryant/Wedgwood area of Seattle. She was a long-time member of Messiah Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children: Jon Larson, Neil Larson(Deb), and Leah Rei (Bill); 6 grand-children and 18 great-grand-children. Her husband, George, died in 2012. Her brothers and sisters all preceded her in death.

A celebration of Elna's life will be held on Friday, Dec. 11 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 7050 35th Ave. NE, Seattle, WA 98115. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a reception. Contact: leahrei9@gmail.com.
