Born March 3, 1936, Carol passed away surrounded by family in Seattle on November 12, 2015 at age 79 after a long illness. She was a 1953 graduate of Roosevelt High School and Edmonds Community College. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and is survived by her three children, Lauryl Berg and Heather Berg of Seattle, and Dale(Toni) Berg of Spokane; by her grandchildren, Evan Berg of Richland, Sara Berg of Spokane, and Stephanie (Chris) Behne of Spokane and their children, Michael and Andrew Behne also of Spokane. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and George Goodson, and her brothers, Glenn and Clarence Goodson of Seattle, and her dear companion, Jack Gant of Port Angeles. Carol clerked at the Port Angeles Police Department for several years in the 1970s, and retired as a medical transcriptionist at the University of Washington in Seattle. She loved animals, especially her cats, and is survived by Fuzzy, Ava and Jack. Her interests included music, gardening and crossword puzzles. She played the ukulele, guitar and piano and had a beautiful voice. She cherished her back yard and loved resting after gardening among the birds and squirrels in her hammock or swing. She was very creative and industrious and made several household improvements including building three decks. She loved traveling, especially to Hawaii. Children and adults alike adored her kind, generous and gentle nature. She never complained and always had a positive outlook on life even after overcoming many challenges. Carol was generous with her time and volunteered for the University Food Bank, drove the elderly to appointments for Visiting Nurses, tutored students and babysat.
