C. FREDERICK MAURER was born July 21, 1925, to Charles and Emma Maurer. He died March 5, 2024, age 98.
Fred was married to his wife Jody for 45 years. Jody passed several years ago. They had a wonderful life together, travelling extensively. Fred is survived by three stepchildren, seven grandchildren, and by his niece and nephew. His sisters, Louise and Janet, predeceased him.
Fred was born and raised in Seattle and graduated from the University of Washington. He was active in Alpha Delta Phi, the UW Crew and the Varsity Boat Club where he won the Inspirational Award.
Fred served in World War II and the Korean War as a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps.
He was President of Maurer-McGinnis, Inc., handling insurance and surety bonds. On his retirement, the business merged to become Robinson, Maurer, Welts. He was active in the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce and the Seattle Rotary #4, and he was a lifetime member of the Washington Athletic Club.
The family is planning a private memorial service.
