Billy Amil was born in Seattle on Mothers' Day to Fred and Elizabeth (Smith) Burnett.
He attended Greenwood Grade School, Ballard High School and UW, playing Husky football in the late 1940s. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and was drafted during the Korean conflict. Long time treasurer of Lafayette Lodge 241 F&AM. He was proud to have donated almost 40 gallons of blood over 47 years.
Survived by wife, Lynn, brother, Jay (Joan), daughters Carroll Simpson and Bonnie Miller, step-children Tim, Jan and Todd Shriner as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
