Andrea “Andie” Ptak, 69, of Seattle, WA, has died on July 16th after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She is the daughter of Joe and Olga (DiGiafrancisco) Ptak of Solvay, NY . Andie was born and raised in Solvay and is a 1972 graduate of Solvay High School and a 1974 graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology in graphic design. She was successfully self-employed as a graphic designer for most of her working career and operated successful businesses in San Antonio and Seattle. She met her husband in 1978 in San Antonio and in 1992 they reconnected in Seattle and were married in 1993. They had just celebrated 31 years of marriage. She is survived by her husband, Aaron Houseknecht, a daughter Dakota Houseknecht and her fiancé Walker Evans, nephews Kyle Lamont and Andy and Amanda Lamont. She was especially close to her cousin Sandy and Neil Rosenfeld. She had an incredible outpouring of love from her many friends in Solvay, San Antonio and Seattle.
Andie was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Valerie Lamont.
Andie was a lover of all animals and was surrounded by pets for most of her life. She enjoyed hiking and camping. She has a beautiful garden and it was her wish to have her ashes spread among the flowers.
There will be a service in her garden that will be streamed and shared.
