To the Cowan Family We are sorry to hear about the passing of Lorraine. We understand that this is a difficult time for the family. It always is, when death claims another person. Death is always to be viewed as an uninvited guest. Yes it is just as the bible has stated; that death is our enemy.( 1 Corinthians 15:26) From the scriptures, we come to know that God cares for us. He has given us His personal promise, that He would not continue to allow death to have the mastery over us. So He provides comfort for ourselves, and our departed love one. God states, that soon He would rid the earth of all sicknesses and death. ( Revelation 21:3-4) He also tells us, that even if we should lose a love one in death, He has the power to rescue and restore that person back to life. ( John 5:28-29) From the above scriptures, God is telling the Cowan family, that Lorraine will live again. Its clear to see that Lorraine had qualities that touched the lives of many people. They enjoyed being around her. Just as the many family members and friends saw those good qualities, God has also. These are the kind of people that God has promised would filled the earth. He wants all to be convinced that the resurrection would take place. For that reason, He has preserved nine accounts in the bible that speaks about this wonderful expression from God. Here is one such example. It is recorded at Acts 9:36-42. May we please encourage the family to read the account. When doing so, why not think about how the verses would first apply to Lorraine, as God uses His powers to restore her back to life. Then think about how the verses would next apply to all the family members and friends, as they become eye witnesses to this wonderful blessing from God. Yes billions of persons just like Lorraine will live again. We have God's personal promise. God does not lie. ( Titus 1:2) - Albert Caldwell Jr
