James “Jim” Melton passed away December 24, 2015 in Seattle, WA.  He was born June 12, 1927 in McMinnville, Tennessee.  He served in the Army Air Corp from 1945-1947 serving as part of the occupation forces in Japan.  He and his beloved wife, Imogene “Jean” Melton married in 1952 and moved from Chattanooga to New Orleans in 1958.  Jim worked as an auto technician for 32 years.  He was a GM Certified Master Technician.      In 2011 they moved to Seattle, WA to be closer to their children, Michael and Linda.  They were members of Jefferson United Methodist Church in Jefferson, Louisiana.  He is survived his son, Michael E. Melton, daughter Linda G. Hinrichsen (Glenn), grandson Paul M. Hinrichsen (Corey Kneser), great grandson, Zachary James Hinrichsen, sister, Willa Mae Miller, brother in law James L. Jolly and numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his loving wife, Imogene “Jean” Melton by 45 days; his father, Robert T. Melton, Sr., his mother, Amanda Patton Melton; brothers Robert T. Melton Jr., Joseph Laverne Melton and sister Marjorie McKnight.  Memorial service will be held at Columbia Lutheran Home, 4700 Phinney Ave., Seattle, WA, Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 2:00 pm.
