Laura P. Park
Laura Pennington Park passed away Monday, August 10, 2009 at her home in Shoreline, Washington.
Laura was born December 10, 1924 in Pennington Gap, VA to Dewey and Ada Pennington.
The family moved to Seattle where Laura met her husband Woodrow, and raised their daughter, Lynn, and son, Bill.
She left a lasting mark on her family and community as a teacher, principal, and Sunday school teacher. Even in her later days, Laura’s face was frequently seen in the community for her work teaching English as a second language, or plying her skill and passion as a master gardener.
Laura shared her love of nature and travel with her family and friends, and was a key part of so many great memories. From country picnics and day hikes to Labor Day weekends at Fort Flagler St. Park.
Laura leaves behind her daughter Lynn, son Bill, and five grandchildren Chris, Jake, Kerry, Kaylee, and Matthew.
Having left such an indelible mark on so many, she will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend.
